Victor Thomas Schell, 96, of Fairmont, died Thursday (March 14, 2013) in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born April 13, 1916, in Shear (Grant County), a son of the late Garfield and Cora Cosner Schell.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Grace Bosley Schell of Fairmont. He is survived by a son, Thomas Bosley of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Vicki Lynn and Terry Patterson of Fairmont, and Elaine Sue and Mike Garrett of Fairmont; five grandchildren, Autumn Hill, Shelli Vanata, Jason Vanata, Mike Garrett and his wife Nicole, and Doc Garrett and his wife Melissa; and four great-grandchildren, Summer Grace Hill, Graci Garrett, Waylon Garrett and Madison Lynn Vanata. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul G. Schell, Clarence Schell, Teddy Schell and Holbert A. Schell; and two sisters, Willie Hawk and Alice Schell.
Mr. Schell was a retired machinist from the F.M.C. Corp. in Fairmont. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 6-8 p.m. Saturday. A private funeral service will be held at a later time with Rev.
