Mary Elizabeth Johnson got married on April 29, 1880 to George Washington Ogden, in Clark County, KY. She was 15 and he was 44. They later moved to Breathitt County, KY, where George died in 1919. When Mary was younger, she was known as "Mattie." But as she got older, she was known as "Bettie." She had a daughter named Mary Elizabeth, who was also known as Mattie. Bettie left KY and moved to FL, to live with her daughter Mattie and her husband Ben T. Harrison. It was said that Bettie lost her mind. She died at her daughter's house in Blountstown, and her funeral was held at that house. It was too expensive to transport her body back to KY to bury her next to her husband, and so she was buried here. Her daughter died the next year and was also buried here.
