Sarah Chesser Thompson, age 88, of Polin Road, Willisburg, passed away at 3:25 a.m., Saturday, Dec 25, 2010 at her home. A native of Washington County, she was born on Oct 17, 1922 to the late Edd Russell and Flora Ann Chesser. She was a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church and a homemaker. Preceding her in death were five brothers, Robert Lee, Hollie, Colie Ike, Harvey R. and Olson Chesser; and three sisters, Lizzie Burkhead, Ethel Chesser and Myrtle Chesser. Survivors include her husband, Elmo Thompson; three sons, James E Thompson and his wife, Wanda, Randy Thompson and his wife, JoAnn and Lonnie Thompson and his wife, Joyce, all of Willisburg; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a brother, Elmo Chesser; and a sister, Bertha Prather, both of Willisburg.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 29 at Carey and Son Funeral Home with Rev Everett Hood, pastor of the Brush Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg. Serving as pallbearers were Clinton Thompson, Jim Wyland, Allen Montgomery, Chris Price, Charles Chesser and Jamie Allen. Carey and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
