Elmo Chesser, 85, of Polin Road in Willisburg, passed away at 4:15 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2015, at the home of his nephew in Willisburg. A native of Washington County, he was born on Nov. 2, 1929, to the late Ed R. and Flora Ann Chesser. He was a member of the Willisburg Church Of God of Prophecy and a retired farmer.

Preceding him in death were four sisters, Ethel Chesser on May 11, 2000, Myrtle Chesser on Jan. 25, 1996, Lizzie Burkhead on Sept. 28,1998, and Sarah Thompson on Dec. 25, 2010; and five brothers, Robert Lee Chesser on Dec. 6, 1995, Hollie Chesser on Dec. 11, 1989, Colie Chesser on Dec. 16, 1994, Harvey Chesser on Dec. 27, 2000, and Olson Chesser on Nov. 27,1928. Survivors include a sister, Bertha Prather of Willisburg and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 19, at the Willisburg Church Of God of Prophecy with Rev. Everett Hood officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Earl Hazel.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Charles Chesser, Buddy Chesser, James Thompson, Randy Thompson, Lonnie Thompson and David Hardin. Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. -
