Eliza Adell (Neel) Barr – October 1861 – September 21, 1945

MRS. JAMES BARR OF MARBLE ROCK DIED LAST FRIDAY
SURVIVED BY ONE DAUGHTER, THREE SONS. FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY.

Mrs. James Barr, age 85, died at her home at Marble Rock last Friday morning about 4:00 o’clock following an illness of only a few days. Heart trouble was given as the cause of her death.

Mrs. Barr was born at Melugin Grove, Illinois, and was married to James Barr in 1876. Mr. Barr preceded his wife in death.

There are one daughter, Mrs. S. E. Bigelow of Fort Madison, and three sons living. The sons include Clarence Barr, at home, Guy Barr of Marble Rock, and Claude Barr of Naches, Washington.

Mrs. Barr had been a resident of the Marble Rock community 60 years. She had been a member of the Marble Rock Methodist church since 1909.

Funeral services were held at her home in Marble Rock Sunday afternoon under the direction of the Rev. H. F. Mercer of Greene, pastor of the Marble Rock Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Hillside Cemetery at Marble Rock.
