RITES HELD FOR CLARENCE BARR, 78
Clarence Ray Barr was born June 7, 1886, in Floyd County, the son of Adella and James Barr.
He attended public school in Marble Rock and a business college in Cedar Rapids. For many years, he was a school bus driver, having started that work when he drove a team of horses.
Clarence Barr was united in marriage with Mary Logsdon on November 23, 1945.
Mr. Barr had been in ill health for several years. His condition became worse recently and he was taken to the Rockford Convalescent Home the morning of March 25th, where he passed away that night.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a step-son, Sam Logsdon of Corwith; and a foster-daughter, Rosalie Wrisberg, of Clear Lake. Mr. Barr was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Claude and Guy; and two sisters, Myrtle and Maude.
Funeral services were held Monday forenoon, March 29th, in Reid’s Funeral Chapel at Marble Rock with Rev. George Baker officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Marble Rock.
