Elihu Green Douglas was born in Howard County where his father had purchased land in 1830. He was the seventh of eleven children, all of whom lived in Missouri
died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Ashby, near Goss, Tuesday, after a long illness. Funeral services by Rev. W. B. Craig at the residence and burial at Pleasant [sic] Grove. Mr. Douglas was 65 years old and for many years had been a member of the Baptist Church. Peace to his ashes.
