Mary Mae Collins, daughter of Henry and Mary Mae Dawson Collins, was born May 14, 1870 in Excelsior, WI. Though her formal education went only to the 9th grade, she was well versed in many subjects as she read a great deal. She was a Methodist during her life time. Mary Mae was employed as a housekeeper and dressmaker during her life time. She married Charles Currie Ross in 1886, at the age of 16. Charlie and Mary moved to Greenbush township, then to the village about 1900. She was member of the Princeton M.E. church, a charter member of the Civic Betterment Club, Rebekah lodge. In Minneapolis, where she moved after the death of her husband, she was a member of the Princeton Club and of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
Mary and Charlie Ross were parents to 7 children; Enid M., Lissa, Eva all born in in WI. Allan J., Oliver H , Mary, Dorthea all born in MN.
Mrs Ross was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1923, a daughter; Enid M.(F.C.) Howard and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Ross was survived by four daughters and two sons, 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Mary died on April 18, 1956.
