Ethel Beers was born June 13, 1890 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She received her schooling in the Vernal district schools, then when they moved back to Pleasant Grove where she graduated from Provo High School. She also attended Heneger's Business College in Salt Lake.
Ethel was very musical and did a lot of singing in public. On March 20, 1911 she married Herbert Austin Isham in Vernal. He was a pharmacist and conducted his business in Vernal and Roosevelt, Utah; Carmel, California and Seattle, Washington.
They had four sons: Herbert Austin Isham Jr., Garner Frank, Paul Howard and Warren Dale. Ethel died August 20, 1936 in Seattle, King County, Washington and was buried August 24, 1936 in the same city.
