Son of Enoch and Beulah Smith. He married firstly, about 1840, probably near London, ON, Canada, Elizabeth Elliot. He married secondly, 25 Feb 1865, probably in Racine Co., WI, Emily/Amelia (Gardener) Rose, who died 19 Feb 1899, New Lisbon, WI. She had married firstly Israel Rose, from whom she was divorced.
Henry O. Smith served as a private and corporal in the 9th Battery, Wisconsin Light Artillery, from 1 Nov 1861 to 26 Jan 1865.
