Funeral services will be held for Ritchie Akin on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Visitation is after 4 p.m. on Saturday. The Guardian Street, Columbia resident was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She passed away at Norton Hospital just after midnight on January 19.
She is survived by her husband Ralph Akin of Columbia and a large family.
She was the was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Jessie Baker Traylor of Breeding and was preceded in death by a daughter Peggy Akin, a son Jimmie, daughter-in-law
Thelma Jean Akin and a great grandson Christopher Michael Akin, in addition to four brothers and two sisters.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by:One son, Mike Akin of Columbia
One daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Roy Woolsey of St. Louis, MO
Clergy officiating will be Rev. P.T. Barnum and Bro. John Reilly. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Kidney foundation and may be made at the funeral home.
