PLYMOUTH - Larry Richard Cavett, 73, rural Plymouth, passed away at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at the Chillicothe V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.
He was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Colchester to Richard A. and Dorethy Bliven Cavett. Larry was united in marriage to Marguerite Haussmann, he later was united in marriage to Mary C. Hasselbacker on April 20, 1979, in Galesburg.
Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife Mary; two Sons, Kenneth Cavett, Galesburg, and Kevin Cavett, Macomb; two Daughters, Angela and John Malone, Lake Zurich, and Corina and Rhone Scoggins, Austin, Texas; two stepdaughters, Michelle and Steve Hamilton, Columbus, Ohio, and Dawn and Jonathan Perry, Normal; a granddaughter, Morgan Wolber-Cavett; three stepgrandchildren, Shannon Perry, Spencer Perry, Chelsea Malone; three brothers, Carroll and Doris Cavett, Danny and Cora Cavett, David Cavett; and a sister, Barbara and Mike Parker.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
He had been employed for 22 years at Cooper Industries in Macomb along with being a farmer. He was a member of the ORIDA (Over the Road Independent Drivers Association). He served his country in the United States Army where he had been stationed in occupied Berlin, Germany.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Jim Richardson officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of the ashes will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangements.
