At 9 o'clock this morning Horatio Genung, an old and well known citizen, died at his residence on East Oak street, near Fifteenth, aged 60 years. Deceased was a native of New Albany, a son of one of the pioneers of Floyd county and one of the first settlers of the city. For thirty years he had been in the employ of the New Albany and Portland Ferry company, and was, in all regards, a most excellent citizen. - New Albany Ledger Standard 28 May 1883
