Hugh Christman died at his home in northeast Washington Tuesday, July 29th. His death was caused mainly by dropsy of the heart. The funeral address was delivered by George Fillaour at the Union church and the remains were interred in the cemetery west of Bryan known as Brown's. Mr Christman was born in Harding County, Ohio in 1841 and after he married Jane Hines (sic) he moved to Defiance County, where he resided until his death. He leaves a wife and six children and many friends to mourn his loss.
Hugh is the son of Hugh and Ellender Cramer Chrisman. He was married to Cynthia Jane Himes on 21 Mar. 1863 in Williams Co., Ohio. They had 9 children:
