Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27th at 2:00 o'clock for Bert Chrisman at the Methodist Church in Hudson, Indiana. The Rev. A.E. Sutton officiated, assisted by the Rev. Rex E. Custer. Burial was made in the Circle cemetery west of Hudson under the direct of the Kistler Funeral Home.
Bert Chrisman, age 76 years, a farmer of Salem Township at Hudson, Indiana, for the past 33 years passed away January 24 at his farm following a heart attack.
Mr. Chrisman had suffered from a heart condition about two years ago, but had been much better during the past year. Only a short time ago he underwent a physical check-up and the report was very favorable. Shortly after going to bed Monday evening, he was stricken with a heart attack about 10:30 o'clock and passed away in a few minutes.
Mr. Chrisman was born near Bryan, Ohio, September 18, 1872, the son of Hugh and Cynthia Himes Chrisman. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Smith at Pierson, Iowa, March 6, 1907.
Mr. and Mrs. Chrisman lived on a farm north of Pierson several years before moving to Indiana. Surviving are the widow and one son, and three daughters by a former marriage; Owen Chrisman and Mrs. C.E. Bishop of Edgerton, Ohio, and Mrs. Edward Fetzer of Bryan, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Orris and James Chrisman and a sister, Mrs. Al Reidenour, all of Bryan, Ohio.
Bert's first wife, Frederica Elser, died 2 weeks after the birth of her last child. Bert and Frederica (Ricca) had the following 6 children:
