Sarah (Trapp) Henderson was born in the western part of Tennessee, in White County on August 27th, 1805, and departed this life at the family residence two and one half miles south of Philomath, on November 22nd, 1886 at the advanced age of 82 yrs; 3 months, and 25 days. With her parents, she left Tennessee at an early age, and removed to Missouri; and in Lafayette county of that state she was united in marriage with Perman Henderson, on Dec. 25th, 1821. In 1853, they came to Oregon with their family, and relocated in Benton county, and resided here eversince. Sixty-six years ago the deceased professed a personal faith in the Christian religion and united with the Chirstian churc of which she remained a faithful consistant member until her death. Mother Henderson was a noble woman, a faithful, true-harted wife a loving mother, and a neighbor, kind and sympathetic. An aged husband and sorrowing children and grand children mourn her departure. On Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, the funeral service was conducted at the family residence, by Rev. J.L. Horahner, and in the presence of a large concourse of neighbors, all that remained of this faithful servant was laid to rest.Published in the Corvaliss-Gazette Times in Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon on Decmber 2, 1887.
