My Uncle John Trapp went to Oregon as part of the Oregon Land Donations and settled in what is now Corvallis. He was a member of a 3 person commission to establish an agricultural college ( a farming college to teach young people how to better their crops) now called Oregon State College. The college was built on land that belonged to the Henderson Family (Perman D. Henderson and Sarah Trapp), the Johnson Family (Charles B. Johnson and Keziah Trapp), the Horning Family (Frederick Augustus Horning and Mary Ann Johnson [daughter of Charlie B. Johnson and Keiziah Trapp]). Keiziah Trapp Johnson's son, John Wesley Johnson would later in life would leave Corvallis and move south and become the first President of Oregon State University.

One of John and Cynthia's sons death is unaccounted for - Jones Dudley "Ionas" Trapp was born November 14, 1840 in Holt County, Missouri. His last known where location was in the City of Los Angeles for the census for 1880 and also the Voter Registration for Los Angeles in 1880.
