David Ridgway, father of Capt. W.J. Ridgway of Elkton. died at his home near Good Springs, Limestone county, Ala., on Sunday, 26th August, of pneumonia, aged 76 years the 19th December next. Deceased moved to the vicinity in which he died in 1831 from near Knoxville, where he was born. He was a good citizen and clever man. He had never belonged to any Church, but on the day of his death was immersed by Rev. Mr. Shelton. His grandfather went to Kentucky about the time Dan'l Boone went, and his mother is said to have been the first white female born in that State. Capt. Ridgway attended his father's bedside.
