Allene Taylor passed away peacefully at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at the age of 70.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Harold and Ida Patterson Gambrel . She had been homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Allene was preceded in death by her sister, Lucy Gambrel; and brother Earl Gambrel.

She is survived and fondly remembered by her husband, Elmer Taylor of Arjay; children and families of Marlene Claudette Knuckles, Danny Warren, Chris Taylor, Tim Taylor and Greg Taylor all of Arjay, and Elmer Taylor Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn.; brothers and sisters and families of Eugene Gambrel of Wolcott, Ind., Arlee Gambrel of Columbia City, Ind., Lester Gambrel of Middlesboro, Ann Gambrel of Straight Creek, and Bonnie Woolum of Arjay; a host of nieces , nephews, grandchildren, one great-grand child, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Arjay Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Randall Beverley and the Rev. Eulice Gene Taylor presiding.

Entombment will be in the Green Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery Mausoleum, Middlesboro.

The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arjay Pentecostal Church.
