***Lee Countryman Meets TRAGIC DEATH IN WEST VIRGINIA***

Noyce Weston, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Weston of Jonesville, met instant death about five o'clock Saturday, Dec. 21, 1946, at Gary, West Virginia, where he was employed by the U.S. Coal and Coke Company. Reports are that he was crushed by a fall of slate in a mine.

The body was returned to his home near Jonesville for funeral and burial. Services were held Thursday, December 26, at Friendship Church a 2:00 o'clock, by the Revs. Clinton Greene, of St. Charles, and L.D. Perkins, of Jonesville.

Mr. Weston who was 44 years, 4 months, and 21 days old, was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Improved Order of Redmen of America.

Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Weston; the widow, Mrs. Mary Spangler Weston, of Jonesville; three sons, Pfc. Harold Weston , of Valley Forge Hospital, Pa.; Billy and G.M. Weston, of Jonesville; five daughters, Dorothy, Ruby Nelle, of Jonesville; Mrs. Harold Billups, Gary, W. Va., and Mrs. Vivian Falvo, of Roderfield, W. Va.; also by three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs A.D. Yeary, Ewing, and Mrs. C.G. Couk, of Portsmouth, Va.; two brothers, Conley, of Warrenton, Va., and Don, of Harriman, Tenn.

His mortal body was laid to rest in the Spangler-Minor Cemetery Jonesville to await the resurrection.
