Mr. Bayliss was born August 31, 1948, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Ellis Edmond "E.E." and Mary Bayliss, Jr.
He was a Real Estate Broker in Winchester for over 30 years, formerly with E.E. Bayliss, Jr., Realty, and most recently with RE/MAX. Mr. Bayliss was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1966, and Madison College, now James Madison University. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and achieving the rank of Sergeant.
Mr. Bayliss was a member of the Blue Ridge Association of Realtors, Virginia Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. He was a proud member of the Society of the Cincinnati. For the past 30 years he dedicated much of his time to the annual Apple Blossom festivities.
Shotsie married Debra Marie Murray on November 15, 1997, in the Cayman Islands.
Surviving with his wife are two step-sons, Matthew Seder and his wife Beth of Pasadena, California, Michael Seder of Columbia, Maryland; sisters, Linda Bayliss Van Evera of Winchester, Joan Bayliss Booth of Atlanta, Georgia, Laura Bayliss Simmons of Winchester; brother, Bentley B. Bayliss of Winchester; and his dogs, Gracie and Duncan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Winchester Church of God with Pastor Kent Woodward officiating. Interment will be Thursday, at 2:00 p.m. in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 5:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
