Mary L. Bayliss
Mary Louise Kern Bayliss, 75, of 1167 Martinsburg Pike, Winchester, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Bayliss was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Hayfield, the daughter of Alva Homer and Florence Maucher Kern. She was a volunteer at Winchester Medical Center for 30 years.
She married E.E. Bayliss Jr. on Nov. 27, 1944, in Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Joan B. Booth of Atlanta, and Linda B. Van Evera and Laura B. Simmons, both of Winchester; two sons, E.E. Bayliss III and Bentley B. Bayliss, both of Winchester; two sisters, Virginia Kern Fanning of Winchester and Anna Mae Woods of Fort Meade, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Kern of Oakland, Md., and Robert Kerns of Stephens City; five grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Omps Funeral Home, with David A. Owings officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Miller, Scott Williamson, Leonard Williamson, Brett Patterson, Morgan Van Evera, Bobby Kipps, Henry Hawkins, and Gene Kern.
