Vern Bartlett was born in Kingsburg County S. Dak., and came when ten years old with his parents to Douglas County where he has since resided. He has been in the employ of Mr. Letson at the Geneva Beach Hotel for the last three months until prevented thro' illness, when he went to his home and continued to grow worse until death claimed him as its victim. He was a young man of steady, industrious habits, kind disposition and a maker of friends, all of whom with his acquaintances extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved parents, and sorrowing brothers, Ward and Jay, who are younger and live at home, and his two sisters Mrs. Kovinski of Alexandria and Mrs. V. Milki of Iowa, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral services conducted by the Rev. Geo. E. Tindall at the home on Sunday afternoon and interment was made in the Lake Mary cemetery.
