Formerly of the Mifflinburg area, died at University Park Nursing Center, State College, where he was a guest for four years.

He was born near Mifflinburg, a son of the late Wesley H. and Nettie M. (Kratzer) Jarrett.

His first wife, the former Edith E. Ocker, died in 1979 after 35 years of marriage. His second wife, the former Mildred Campbell, died in 1991.

Mr. Jarrett was a graduate of Lewisburg High School.

He was employed for more than 17 years as a conservation technician, working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service. He worked out of offices in Union, Lebanon, Luzerne and Warren counties. Earlier, he was a self-employed farmer in the Mifflinburg area.

His interests included collecting antique books, especially Zane Gray historical novels. Mr. Jarrett enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Albert R. Jarrett, of State College, and Howard E. Jarrett of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Aimee Volkmann and Valerie and Adam Jarrett; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Rose Volkmann; and two sisters, Leah Bingaman and Beatrice Sanders, both of Millmont.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Raymond Jarrett, and one sister, Mary Delsite.
