THEODORE "TED" S. SERIO

Ted S. Serio, 71, of 1102 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, died Thursday at Manitowoc
County Hospital where he was a patient since June 3.
Funeral services will be at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
at 12:45 p.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. E.A. Radey
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Serio was born Oct. 21, 1896, at Milwaukee, son of the late Andrew and Mary
La Rosa Serio. He came to Manitowoc in 1920 and married Ann Heinzl June 13, 1922,
at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He was a wholesale fruit dealer at
Manitowoc. He and Max Friedman and William D. Grabinsky formed the Quality Fruit
and Grocery Inc., of Manitowoc in 1953 and Serio headed the company. He retired
in 1961. Mr. Serio belonged to the Travelers Protective Assn., Fraternal Order
of Eagles Aerie No. 706, American Legion, Drews Bleser Post No. 88, the Holy
Name Society and Knights of Columbus Council 710. He was a veteran of World
War II.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters (Private); a sister, Mrs. Frank
Balisteri, of Milwaukee; five brothers, Joseph, Nic, Carl, Rasario and Santo
of Milwaukee; and nine grand children. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8
o'clock this Friday evening.
