Fred Schwarzenbart, 57, Dies of Heart Attack
IN SOFT DRINK BUSINESS HERE FOR 35 YEARS
Retired Manufacturer Is Found Dead In Chair; Funeral Will Be Wednesday
Fred Schwarzenbart, 57, for more than 35 years engaged in the soft drink
manufacturing business in Manitowoc, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday
night in his chair at the window of his Washington street home as he watched
the evening crowds pass on the street.
His lifeless body was found by the police after they were summoned to the
home by phone. Less than an hour before Mr. Schwarzenbart had spoken in
cheering tones with his son Fred Jr. who visited him at 7 p.m.
Word from two little girls who noted Mr. Schwarzenbart did not wave back to
them as was his custom when they passed the window of the home at 1219
Washington street last evening led to investigation which resulted in the
finding of the body. They ran to the Park Drug store and notified Walter
Gerbinsky of their fears. He called the police and Officer Tulach responded.
He notified Dr. Gerald Rau, coroner, who decided that there would be no
inquest.
