Mrs. Alice M. Schwalbe (sic), 65, of 1310 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died
Monday afternoon, January 5, in the Intensive Care Unit of Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11
a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore Hendricks
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Schwalbe, nee Alice M. Popp, was born July 28, 1915, at Manitowoc Rapids,
daughter of the late John and Bertha Holzer Popp. She resided in Manitowoc all
her life, attended Manitowoc schools and was married to Merle C. Schwalbe
May 29, 1937, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Silver Lake. He preceded her in
death Nov. 2, 1974. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Schwalbe had been employed
at Park Lawn Home.
Survivors include two brothers, Delmar and Lloyd Popp of Manitowoc Rapids; two
sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Irene) Stauss and Mrs. Annabelle Glaeser of Manitowoc and
nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday where a
prayer service will be at 7 p.m.
