FRED G. GAESTEL

Fred Gaestel, 80, of 846 Jackson St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at home of a
coronary attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Gaestel was born May 14, 1886, at Manitowoc, son of the late Arnold and
Fredericka Schroeder Gaestel. He married Mabel Green at Manitowoc in 1914
and she preceded him in death Aug. 29, 1945. He was a painter foreman at
Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., and retired in 1942. Mr. Gaestel wsa a 50-year
member of the Royal League.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hilda Kugler, of Milwaukee and nieces and
nephews and Mrs. Hilda Rick who lived with Mr. and Mrs. Gaestel 22 years. A
sister, Mrs. Stanley Zlatohlavek, a brother Arnold, and two half brothers,
Richard and Lester Kugler, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
