Victor J. Desrosiers, of Wethersfield, died Tuesday, (November 25, 2003) after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 18, 1942 and graduated from Bulkley High School, class of "59". He attended the University of California at Irvine and Palomar College studying advanced mathematics and computer technology; achieving awards including State Honors. Victor lived in California for 35 years, worked as a painting contractor and owned his own contracting company. He returned to Connecticut five years ago and has worked for the Home Depot. He leaves his parents, George and Anita of Wethersfield; two sisters, Sharon Desrosiers of Coxsackie, NY and Valerie and her husband, Donald Guay of Newington. He leaves three brothers, James of Bath, NY, William and his wife, Linda of Wethersfield and Robert and his wife, Christa of Coxsackie, NY. He also leaves 11 nieces and nephews; as well as six grand nieces and grand nephews. Life long friend, John Jobin of Florida and many good friends from California and Montana will miss him. Since returning to Connecticut, he has had the good fortune of making many more good friends and enjoyed times with them at Home Depot and the Old Town Cafe. Calling hours will be on Friday, Nov. 28 from 5-7 p.m. at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Peters Church, 160 Main Street, Hartford. Internment will follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to either: The Homer Fund, care of the Human Resources Department of any Home Depot Store or to the Oncology and Hospice Staff (8-1) of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Department 71700, 114 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105. The donation will be used to enhance the services of both organizations.
