Born April 29, 1874, a son of Henry and Kathryn (Willhelm) evans, he was a farmer-carpenter. Mr. Evans served on the Graham Township School Board for 10 years and was a trustee of the Fairview Evangelical United Brethren Church, of which he was a life-long member.
He married the former Sara Green Nov. 25, 1902, at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Riley Green in Graham Township, and in November, 1952, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Surviving is his wife; a son: John, Olean, N.Y., three daughters: Mrs. Wynn (Josephine) Hubler and Mrs. Robert (Cordelia) Kent, both of Morrisdale R.D.; and Mrs. Robert (Isabelle) Hartley, Philipsburg. Also surviving is a brother Willard, Morrisdale R.D., three sister; Mrs. Cordelia Johnson, Neward, N.J.; Mrs. Blanche Rothrock and Mrs. Winifred Culver, both of Kylertown; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
