CHEROKEE, Ind. -- Addie Gilbert, 79, of 321 E. Spruce St., a former Port Huron resident, died Sunday, Sept. 20 1981 in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born March 16, 1902 in Larrabee, Iowa. She had lived in Port Huron before moving to Cherokee in 1966.

She was chief librarian for 40 years at St. Clair County Library, Port Huron. She was affiliated with the Larrabee United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Raymond Gregg, of Cherokee; and two sisters-in-law.

Two brothers and one sister died earlier.

Services were Sept. 22 in the Boothby Funeral Home. The Rev. James B Nicholson and the Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiated. Burial was in Cedar Cemetery, Larrabee.
