Lenora Harper passed away in in Sherman, Texas on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born on Sunday, March 24, 1918 in Calera, Oklahoma to William Baxter and Cora Estelle (Shelton) Pope. Lenora Pope married Melvin Harper in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 30, 1938.

Lenora was a Director of the Big 5 Day Care. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Lenora loved working with children and was proud of her service to her church. But more than anything else Lenora was dedicated to her family and cherished all the time they spent together.

Mrs. Harper is survived by her sons, Don Harper and wife Susan of Broken Bow, Texas and Benny Harper and wife Linda of Hoffman, Texas; daughter, Marsha Scott and husband Guy of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandchildren, Luke Harper and wife Molly, Emily Mills and husband Toby, Jospeph Harper and wife Brittany, Todd Harper and wife Teresa, Mady Steaveson and husband Wade, Jonathan Scott, Kerrie Stephanian and husband Edic and Michael Tarrance and wife Chelle; brother, Troy Pope of Farmington, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her parents, William and Cora Harper; husband, Melvin Harper; Juanita Gilbert, Mildred Cooper, Billie McGahey, William Pope, Jr., and "Sone" Pope.

Family Hour will be 7-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant with Rev. Daryl Bunch and Rev. Jacob Towes officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Harper, Todd Harper, Joseph Harper, Jonathan Scott, Tobby Mills and Michael Tarrance.
