Vera I. (Pollard) Traum, 70, Rockford, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 1992 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born July 22, 1922, in Winnebago, daughter of Joseph and Irene (Brauer) Pollard. Lived all her life in Rockford area. Graduate of Rockford Central High School in 1940. Married Delmar G. Traum in Rockford, March 29, 1944. She was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell Telephone Co., during early '40's. She was "Miss Rockford" for the Rockford Centennial celebration in 1952. Business owner on Broadway during late '40s and early '50s. Member First Presbyterian Church for 48 years; co-chaired deaconess board and member funeral guild. Member Centerville Community Club and volunteer at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Survivors: daughter, Pat (Dave) Siljenberg, Byron, Minn.; two grandsons, Jeff and B.J.; sister, Bernice Makulec; brother, Ray (Carol) Pollard, Rockford; sister-in-law, Rosa Hurley, Binghamton, N.Y., Betty Traum, Arlington, Va.; brother-in-law, Paul (Marilyn) Traum, Chicago; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband, Delmar, April 17, 1992; and brother, Harry Pollard.
Memorial services at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. David H. Barnes officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Anderson-Long-Klontz Funeral Home, Court St. at Park Avenue. No visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials to church scholarship fund.
