Resident of Concord Jean Fulks Northcutt has gone peacefully to be with her best friend, Jesus. She has exchanged her breastplate for a gossamer set of wings and received her triumphant welcome. Jean remained at home in Concord surrounded with love during her battle with liver cancer (diagnosed in March). Born in Apache OK, Ella Jean McCall migrated to Brentwood in 1938 during the dust bowl era with her parents John & Ella Cloma (Renfrow) McCall. Jean moved to Concord in 1950 with her first husband, RJ Fulks (married 6/26/49-deceased). They were baptized into service for the Lord at Bethel Baptist Church in Concord. Jean loved Bethel, faithfully serving on many teams: flowers, building, grounds, counting, choir, pastor search, vacation bible school, G.A.s, mentoring, Sunday school teacher. Jean's floral talent was showcased many Sundays in the ornate arrangements at the pulpit and many Holidays when the auditorium was transformed. Her love for reading also motivated Jean to help start a reading library at Bethel. She will be honored for this service at Bethel's 60th Anniversary in December. Jean retired in 1994 from Varian Aerograph after 19 years. Jean found love a second time with Jim Northcutt (a Navy buddy of RJ's on the USS Haverfield) and was married January 15, 2010. Jean and RJ's family included: Donna & Rob Bruder of Pleasant Hill, Dan & Marci Fulks of Gerber, Deb & Dan Hall of Walnut Creek. Jean's grandchildren were a source of great pride, including: Keith & Mei Lin Bruder; Dakota, Dusty & Dillon Fulks; Sarah, Danae & Nate Hall. Jean and Jim Northcutt's family in Texas/Oklahoma includes: Sheila & Erik Groenevelt, Kevin & Lisa Northcutt, Steve and Lottie Northcutt, Pat & Tom McDonald, Terry & Anita Webb, Randy & Paula Webb.
