One of the women could be Marta (Armstrong) Crummett. Written on the back is "Marta Crummett, Patna, Va". Patna is a little community in eastern Highland and was home to the Crummett family.

Highland Recorder December 8, 1939

Mrs. Martha J. Crummett, aged sixty-seven, died at seven thirty Tuesday evening, December 5th near Deerfield. She was stricken with paralysis Saturday & did not regain consciousness. She is survived by her husband, William L. Crummett, two sons, Lester and Clayburn, a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Kincaid, of Headwaters & by five grandchildren; also by two brothers, Wesley Armstrong of Doe Hill & Jared Armstrong, of Woodbridge & a sister, Mrs. Eli Michael, of Sangersville. The funeral will be held from the Presbyterian church, Deerfield Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. W. O. Perrell, assisted by the Rev. Lyle Moffett.
