To Be Friday, A.M.

Mrs. Mary Appler, well and favorably known lady of this community, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ross Henshaw in Leavenworth, Kans., Monday afternoon, January 11, 1943. She had been in failing health for some time. She was 69 years old.
Mrs. Appler's health has been considered serious since the death of her husband in February 1941. Her constant care for her bed-ridden companion was typical of her willingness, to help others. Following his death, heart trouble developed which caused her death. She had been at
the home of her daughter in Kansas since September of last year.
Mary, daughter of Paul and Mary Black, was born on the farm southwest of Moulton, August 3, 1873. She lived her entire life on the farm
where she was born. She was married to John Appler in 1892 and to this union was born
six children, Mrs. V. W. Staley, of Centerville; C. W. Appler, of Cushing, Okla.; Mrs. Ross Henshaw, of Leavenworth, Kans., and Glenn, of
Moulton. Two sons, Hubert and Herbert, with the husband preceded her in death.
Other surviving relatives are two brothers, James Black, of Mendota, Mo., and Paul Black, of Cushing, Okla., besides other relatives and
countless friends.
Mrs. Appler was a kind and loving mother and a good neighbor. Her sterling character, kind disposition and thoughtfulness for others
endeared her to all. She will be sadly missed in the community where she had so long lived.
