WINTER HAVEN - Dykes Parrish, 78, of Winter Haven, FL passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice resident Center in Auburndale due to heart failure.
Born Oct. 14, 1933 in Coffee County, AL he was a diesel mechanic for McDonalds Construction of Lakeland, FL for 32 years. He was the Pastor of Lake Pierce Baptist Church of Lake Wales for 17 years.
He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed.
Preceded in death by his wife , Bonnie, he is survived by: 4 sons, Charles Parrish, Gerald ( Deanna) Parrish, Steve ( Linda) Parrish, and Scooter ( Kimberly) Parrish; 2 daughters, Debra (Eddie) Bradley and Beth ( Wes) Donley; 2 sisters, Earlene Fontaine and Carolyn Ware; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 2:00pm, Friday, July 20, 2012 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
