Her parents were both originally from Georgia, and married February 10, 1880 in Georgia. They then moved to Texas with Amanda's parents and siblings @ 1881. They had four children: Nona, Viola Jane, Talmadge B, and Nancy. Amanda died in Texas June 2, 1890. John Robert subsequently moved with the children back to Georgia, remarried, and had three more sons: Judge Lee, Luther, and McKinley.
Viola married Thomas Noah Allen March 19, 1899, and they had twelve children.
