Orand C. Miller, age 77, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on October 12, 1934 in Healy, Kansas, the son of Everett & Alma Shipley Miller. A resident of Garden City, Kansas from 1952 until 2009 moving from Oakley, Kansas. He worked for Henkle Drilling from 1952 to 1974 and then he was the owner and operator of Miller Gearhead & Miller Enterprises until his retirement.

Orand was also a Finney County Sheriff's Posse Deputy for over 20 years before retiring as an honorary member. His other memberships include the Trinity United Methodist Church of Longview, Texas, the Eagles Lodge of Garden City, Kansas and a member of the Water Well Association.

On July 13, 1952 he married Deloris Wishon in Raton, New Mexico. She passed away on January 24, 1994 in Garden City, Kansas. On May 23, 1998 he married Vonna Bell in Garden City, Kansas. She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Vonna Miller of Longview, Texas, Three Sons - Everett Miller & Louise Berning of Garden City, KS, Loren & Peggy Miller of Boise, Idaho, Ray Miller of Houma, Louisiana, One Sister - Loretta Collard of Boise, Idaho, Three Step Daughters - Conda Bell of Dumas, Texas, Dana McNutt of Garden City, Kansas, Sondra Cunningham of White Oak, Texas, Nineteen Grandchildren and Thirty Two Great Grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife – Deloris Miller, One Son – Ivan Miller and One Brother - Lawrence Miller.

Funeral Services will be held at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 with Rev. Jon Becker presiding.

Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Finney County Sheriff Posse or the Finney County Senior Center in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas at 620 N. Main.

Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
