The body of Alvin Dewey Smith, whose death was noted in Saturday's issue, was buried Sunday, afternoon at Walnut Grove Cemetery, after funeral services at the Presbyterian Church in which Rev. L.H. Richardson preached a very comforting and tender sermon.
The little child, a pride in this happy home, had been sick of congestion, for which a solution of morphine had been given. When the mother left the room the child seized the bottle and swallowed the contents, about seven doses, bringing on spinal meningitis from which death resulted.
