I'm not sure where the surname "Burgess" came from - in the 1900 Census, she & Grant are shown with a 15-year old brother-in-law of John Lund, so Christina's maiden name is probably actually Lund. The 1900 Census also showed that she had immigrated in 1894 and John in 1899 and that Grant & Christina's "estimated year of marriage" was 1896. So, if Christina was married to a "Burgess" prior to her marriage to Grant, she may have made an interim stop in another country between Norway and the U.S. & may have married there (I believe Burgess is a Scottish surname, so maybe she came to America by way of Scotland or England - ?). In the 1900 Census, Christina's birth is shown as May 1869, yet her gravestone says 1868 birth year...
