Thomas Thumb Wickline, son of Collin M. Wickline and Elizabeth Jane (Lambert) Wickline, was born June 15, 1869 in Bloom Junction, Scioto County, OH. He married Rachel Elizabeth Lauderback/Louderback in Jackson County, OH, on December 11, 1893. Birth and christening records give his name as Thomas Thumb Wickline.

In the Wickline books he is called Thomas Charles Wickline, born in 1859. Since another brother had the middle name of Charles, investigation of the original records was required to find his given middle name, place and date of birth. One of the early family trees submitted in 1995 to Broderbund for the World Family Tree included Thomas Wickline with a different birthdate and county in Ohio.

Thomas, who worked as a coal miner, died February 18, 1934 in Wyoming County, WV, in an unincorporated town called "Devil's Fork," Barker's Ridge District, which later became part of the town of Stephenson, WV.

His wife, Rachel Elizabeth (Lauderback/Louderback), Wickline, his sons, William Henry Wickline and Charles McCloud Wickline, and his daughter, Mary Ellen (Wickline) Taylor, his sons-in-law, Grant Ulysses Taylor and Thomas "Tinker" Jackson Osborne, Jr., and many grandchildren survived him.

His grandparents, David Wickline (1808-1887) and Phoebe (Wiseman) Wickline (1807-1851), his parents, Collin M. Wickline (1836-1906) and Elizabeth Jane (Lambert) Wickline (1835-1915), his daughters, Phyllis Wickline (1894-1896) and Hazel Elizabeth (Wickline) Osborne (1896-1923), his brothers, William Henry Wickline (1856-1930), George Lewis Wickline (1860-1917), David Wickline, Isaac Charles Wickline (1865-1926), and Levi Wickline (1872-1912), his daughter-in-law, Mary (Romans) Wickline (1922), and his granddaughter, Mary Romans Wickline (1922) predeceased him.

His paternal great grandparents were Isaac Wiseman II (1764-1852) and Mary Magdalene (Armentrout) Wiseman (1767-1858), George Washington Wickline (1776-1860) and Mary A. (Miller) Wickline (1776-1863). Great great grandparents were Isaac Wiseman, I (1738-1818) and Elizabeth (Davis) Wiseman (1738-1807).

Thomas also had two sisters, Mary O. Wickline (b. 1867) and Louisa B. Wickline (b. 1874).
