Lola D. Rosenbum, 93, of Jefferson City, Missouri and formerly of West Plains, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born December 21, 1918 in Texas County, Missouri, the daughter of Amos and Jessie (Brake) Smotherman.
Lola was united in marriage to Alma Lee Rosenbum on October 15, 1938 in Alton, Missouri. To this union nine children were born; Yvonne, Kenneth, Gary, Barbara, Sharon, Donna, Brenda, Rick and Angie.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Lee; her parents; sisters, Opal, Virginia, Wilma, Dessie, Beulah; brothers, Dwain and Herschel; granddaughter, Shawnna Beth Ellett; grandson, Scottie Lee Rosenbum; grandson-in-law, Jesse Pirtle; and son-in-law, Richard Gatton.
Surviving are her children, Yvonne and Mike Kirwan, Topeka, KS, Kenneth and Shirley Rosenbum, West Plains, MO, Gary and Ann Rosenbum, Pomona, MO, Barbara Gatton, Jefferson City, MO, Sharon Sampsel, Excelsior Springs, MO, Donna and John Carter, Murchison, TX, Brenda and James Easley, Garland, TX, Rick Rosenbum, Columbia, MO, and Angie and Robert Burch, Forney, TX; one sister, Edith Asplin; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 18 step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lola's greatest love was her grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids.
She loved making baby quilts, cooking, sewing, and making a home for her family.
