Mrs. Catherine Hackman, wife of Enos Hackman, died very suddenly Monday night at 9:00 at the residence of Mr. Booth. Mr. Hackman was out to his farm and she went to Mr. Booth's to stay over night. He heard a rap on the partition and went in her room, helped her to a rocking chair, where she died in a few minutes. She was subject to heart disease and this was probably the cause of her death. She was 67 years and one day old, and leaves a husband and six children to mourn her death. Mrs. Hackman was sent for and word was sent to the children, but on account of washouts all of them could not reach here in time for the funeral. The funeral was held Wednesday morning from the Congregational church, conducted by Rev. Rogers, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Pond Creek cemetery. The family have the sympathy of all in this their hour of bereavement.
