Mrs. Eme Ruth Winslett Smith, 87, widow of Gordon K. Smith, passed away July 28, 2012.
Born in Easley, a daughter of the late Horace Lee Winslett, Sr. and and the late Kate Ballentine Winslett, Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Easley High School, Class of 1941 and attended Winthrop College. She retired from Bank of America and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Easley.
Surviving are a son, Ronnie L. Smith (Patty) of Easley; a daughter, Beth Ann Smith Brown of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Jimmy "Slew" Winslett (JoAnn) of Easley; three sisters, Catherine Brown and Mary Bagwell, both of Easley and Dorie Twiford(Doc) of Concord, NC; a sister-in-law, Lorna Winslett of Easley; three grandchildren, Casey J. Smith, Katie Smith Coisson (David) and Jaden Leon Brown; and two great-grandchildren, David J. Coisson, III and Harper M. Coisson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was predecesaed by two brothers, Horace Lee Winslett, Jr. and Walter "Pop" Winslett; one sister, Helen Lynes; two brothers-in-law, Ford Brown and Bobby Bagwell; and one sister-in-law, Hazeleen Winslett.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Easley, with Rev. Rodney Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home of Ronnie and Patty Smith.
