The news of the death of Mrs. N. M. Smith greatly shocked the community last Friday morning, for many of the citizens had not heard of her sickness, so-short had been its run. At first her indisposition was not regarded as serious but during the early part of last week the relatives, and those nearest began to realize that her ailment was dangerous: Thursday she sank rapidly and the end came during the night. Bright's disease was the primary cause of her death, coupled with heart failure.
The funeral services occurred Sunday from her late residence. Rev. C. D. Moore conducting the ceremony, and the interment was made at the Oak Knoll cemetery.
Hannah B Jacquith was born in Brownville, Maine, Sept. 20,1829, and was therefore in her sixty-ninth year. She was married in her native town to N. M. Smith Nov. 22, 1849. During the spring of 1866 Mr. and Mrs. Smith came to Minnesota and soon after located in Princeton, where they have since resided. During her 32 years residence in Princeton, Mrs. Smith was blessed with a large circle of friends, who loved and respected her.
Her death is a severe loss to them, but the pang of the parting are bitterest to her companion of half a century and to him goes out the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community.
