Phoebe Elizabeth Smith was born on January 23, 1853, in Brownville, Maine and came with her parents, Nathaniel and Hannah Smith, to Princeton in 1866. She was married in 1872 to Daniel H. Murray, who passed away in 1880. One son Charles was born to this marriage. Later Mrs. Murray married J.C. Borden, who died in 1923. Mrs Borden made her home with her son Charles at Green Lake, since 1931.
Surviving Mrs Borden are two sisters. Mrs. Angie Bigelow of Mpls, and Mrs Anna Bavier of Ogilvie, and one granddaughter Miriam Murray, two grandsons, Loring and Paul Murray, two great-granddaughters, and six great grandsons.
