SANDERS FAMILY OF GOSPORT:
"Henry Sanders, for forty years after his Revolutionary service, was a Baptist minister. In consequence of his ministry, the family moved frequently. They went over the mountains to Tennessee and then to Kentucky, where his children began to marry and go out to make homes of their own. His sons Henry and Wright settled in Monroe County, Indiana, southwest of Bloomington, and JOSEPH settled in Orange County, *becoming head of the Sanders families of that locality*".

Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, 2 miles west of Orleans, was organized in 1839. Near the church is a well-kept community cemetery, in which the oldest marked stone is that of the wife of Nathaniel Sanders, who died in 1864. The site of the first church house is west of the present one, about 1 mile. It was used for about 13 years and a cluster of trees on a hill marks the site of Old Mt. Horeb cemetery - aka Old Horeb Graveyard where it is known that members of the Burton and Sanders families were buried but NO MARKERS were found!
