OBITUARY:

Maude J. Blackburn, daughter of James Stanton and Nancy Elizabeth Blackburn, was born on Sept. 11, 1880 at Olney in Lincoln County, Mo., and passed away at Pratt, Kans., on Nov. 4, 1956, at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 23 days. At the age of 2, the family moved her to Lamar, Colo., where they lived for 7 years. In 1889 they moved to Stafford County, Kansas.

On Nov. 20, 1901, she was united in marriage to Thomas R. Jenkins. To this union three daughters were born. Her husband and one daughter, Rachel Pumroy preceded her in death. Maude was a devout member of the First Christian church in Stafford where she was baptized in 1931.

Those who remain to mourn her departure include two daughters, Lucille Ward, of Pratt, Kans.; and Doris Ashford of Gower, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. John Chinn of Larned, Kans.; two brothers, John Blackburn of Truth-or-Consequences, New Mexico, and Stanton Blackburn of Stafford; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and a great number of other relatives and friends.
