Donald Ray Angle, 51, was born on July 3, 1950 in Knox County, Indiana and passed away on December 10, 2001 in the Vincennes Extended Care Facility in Vincennes, Indiana. He was the son of Dale M. and Veva Marie (Baker) Angle. He married Sherri Lynn Maez on October 7, 1973 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and she survived him.

Donald was a retired Chief Warrant Officer of the United States Army serving from 1972-1992. He was a veteran of the Gulf War was a recipient of a Bronze Star in 1991.

He was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections in Robinson, Illinois and was a representative on the Lawrence County, Illinois Board District 1 where he served as chairman of the road and bridge committee as well as several other county board committees.

He was a member of the Lawrenceville, Illinois VFW Post 2244 and a member of the Christy Township Fire Department in Chauncey, Illinois.

In addition to his wife, he was survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Duayne and Heather Angle, and Dale and Donna Angle, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Darlene Angle and Gerald and Amy Angle; a sister-in-law, Joyce (Gillespie) Angle Smith; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Angle.

Funeral Services for Donald were held in the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Interment was in the Waggoner Cemetery with the American Legion and VFW conducting full military rites.
